Socioeconomic Baseline Study Design & Analysis
Dominican Republic
COOPGRASUR & AGAPE
AGAPE/Coopgrasur was challenged to obtain detailed information on agricultural, economic, social, child welfare, food security aspects, and more to document the initial situation before implementing various interventions and projects.
The objective was to identify the needs of the target population and support the justification of projects while maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the situation.

We created an interactive and user-friendly digital survey tailored to the needs of AGAPE/Coopgrasur. We captured quantitative and qualitative data by incorporating open-ended, closed, and multiple-choice questions.
Robust statistical methods were applied to sampling households to ensure representative results. Sections were carefully designed to address: a) local demographics; b) agriculture and productivity; c) participation in organizations and access to technical support; e) agriculture, finances, and other economic income; f) health, nutrition, and mental health; and g) plans, allowing for the collection of relevant information.

Furthermore, we trained field enumerators, familiarizing them with appropriate verbal and non-verbal communication strategies for practical surveying.
