At EarthEmpower Consulting, we create significant change through strategic partnerships. In 2019, we participated in the Value Chains initiative as part of the Communities Leading Their Development (CLD) project, focusing on crops such as peanut, hibiscus, annatto, cardamom, and anise. This project aimed to empower communities to develop independently and improve living standards while ensuring long-term sustainability.

Through community planning, CLD communities prioritized agricultural actions to improve economic development and natural resource management. Proposals included expanding the production of alternative crops, like peanuts, hibiscus, and anise, to access more profitable markets.

We provided value chain and stakeholder mapping, crop postharvest technology recommendations, and action plans based on field observations. Our evaluation identified key actors, constraints, and power dynamics in the value chains, focusing on strengthening postharvest practices and addressing issues such as child labor.
